Disclaimer
What you should know before relying on any rate, calculation, or piece of information shown on Gold Rate Today.
Please read this carefully
Gold Rate Today is a free reference website for daily Indian gold rates. Everything on this site is for general information and educational purposes only.
The rates we publish are reference values, not guaranteed market quotes. The information here is not financial, investment, or tax advice. Always verify rates with a local jeweller and consult a qualified advisor before making significant financial decisions.
1. Gold rates are reference values, not market quotes
The rates shown on this site are reference values derived from public market sources, including MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange), IBJA (India Bullion & Jewellers Association), and international spot price feeds. They are intended for general guidance only.
The rate your local jeweller, bullion dealer, or bank quotes may differ — sometimes meaningfully — due to:
- Local taxes, levies, transport, and insurance costs.
- Jeweller making charges (typically 8–25%).
- GST (3% on metal, 5% on making charges).
- Time-of-day fluctuations between our update and the jeweller's quote.
2. Not financial, investment, or tax advice
Nothing on Gold Rate Today constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. We are not:
- A SEBI-registered investment advisor.
- A registered financial planner, broker, or distributor.
- A tax consultant or chartered accountant.
- A licensed bullion or commodities dealer.
Before making any gold purchase, sale, or investment decision based on information from this site, please consult a qualified professional registered in your jurisdiction.
3. Past performance does not predict future prices
Historical gold rate data (charts, 7-day tables, 30-day trends) shown on the site reflects what happened previously. Historical patterns are not a reliable predictor of future gold prices.
Gold prices respond to many global factors — including US dollar strength, central bank policies, geopolitical events, inflation, and demand cycles — that even professional analysts struggle to predict. Do not assume that what gold did yesterday is what it will do tomorrow.
4. Accuracy and timeliness are not guaranteed
We work to keep our rates current and accurate. However, due to the nature of market data and the limitations of any web service, we cannot guarantee:
- That the rate you see is the live, instantaneous market price.
- That our data sources are free from errors or delays.
- That city-specific rates capture every local jeweller's pricing.
- That the calculator will exactly match the bill at any specific jeweller.
For any high-value transaction, verify the rate directly with your jeweller or bullion dealer at the moment of purchase.
5. No endorsement of specific jewellers or sellers
This is a reference site, not a marketplace. We do not endorse, recommend, or have business relationships with any specific jeweller, bullion dealer, broker, or bank.
If a jeweller's website, advertisement, or sales pitch references "today's rate as per [our site]", that is solely the jeweller's decision and does not imply we endorse or have any partnership with them. Always verify hallmark, weight, and price independently before purchase.
6. Third-party content and external links
The site may reference or link to third-party services (such as MCX, IBJA, BIS Care app, news articles, or Wikipedia). We do not control these external sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability.
Any trademarks, brand names, or trade names referenced (such as MCX, IBJA, BIS, etc.) belong to their respective owners and are mentioned for informational purposes only.
7. Limitation of liability
By using this site, you accept that:
- You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on information shown here.
- We shall not be liable for any financial losses, damages, or costs arising from your reliance on the site's content.
- For a complete statement of our liability terms, please read our Terms of Use.
What we recommend instead
If you're about to make a meaningful gold transaction, please follow this simple process to protect yourself:
- Use this site for orientation — to know roughly where the market sits today.
- Verify the rate live with your local jeweller or bullion dealer at the moment of purchase.
- Demand a BIS hallmark on every piece — with the BIS triangle, purity grade, and 6-character HUID.
- Ask for an itemised bill showing metal cost, making charges, GST, and any other fees as separate lines.
- Compare quotes from 2–3 jewellers on the same day — the metal rate is similar everywhere, but making charges vary widely.
- For investment decisions — especially Sovereign Gold Bonds, Gold ETFs, or large physical purchases — consult a SEBI-registered financial advisor.
