Gold Rate on Any Date

Look up the gold rate on a past date, compare two dates, or see what gold would have returned over time. Records go back to 4 October 2021.

Past returns use the 24K rate and compare gold prices only. They leave out making charges, GST, storage, fund costs and taxes, and they are not a forecast.

How to use these tools

Rate on a date. Useful when you want to check an old bill, compare what you paid with the rate that day, or see where the price was around a festival or a wedding.

Compare two dates. Pick any two days and see how much the price per gram changed, in rupees and in percent, for each karat.

Past returns. See what a lump sum would be worth today if you had bought gold on a past date, and what a fixed monthly amount would have grown to. It is a way to understand how gold has behaved, not a prediction. Read our guide on the ways to own gold before you decide how to invest.

Questions about historical gold rates

How do I find the gold rate on a past date?

Pick the date in the first tab and you will see the 24K, 22K and 18K rate per gram for that day. If the market was closed on that date, the tool shows the last rate before it.

How far back does the history go?

Our records start on 4 October 2021. The date pickers only allow dates between then and today.

Can I see how much gold has returned over a period?

Yes. The past-returns tab shows what a lump sum invested on a past date would be worth today, and the SIP tab does the same for a fixed monthly amount. They use the 24K rate and are history, not a forecast.

Do the returns include making charges and GST?

No. They compare the gold price on two dates only. Making charges, GST, storage, fund expenses and taxes would change what you actually earn or lose.
