1. Who we are

GoldRateToday (goldratetoday.net.in) is operated by Orion Appworks ("Orion Appworks", "we", "us" or "our"). For the purposes of applicable Indian data protection law, Orion Appworks decides why and how your personal information is processed through this site. You can reach us using the details in section 14.

This policy applies to the GoldRateToday website and the data services that power it. It does not apply to other sites that we link to.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information collected automatically when you visit

When you open a page, our systems record a visit entry that includes:

• the page you opened (its address on our site) and the date of the visit;
• your IP address;
• the type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop), your operating system and your browser, taken from your browser's standard identification details;
• how long you stayed on the page, which your browser reports to us when you leave it; and
• a random visit identifier that links these details together for that one visit. It is not stored on your device.

2.2 Information you give us

If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject and the message you write. Please do not put sensitive information in your message.

2.3 Information processed by our service providers

Our hosting and delivery providers process technical information such as your IP address, request details and security logs in order to deliver pages to you and protect the site from attacks and abuse. See section 5.

2.4 What we do not collect

• We do not ask you to create an account, so we hold no usernames or passwords for visitors.
• We do not take payments, so we hold no card or bank details.
• We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos or files.
• We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as health, caste, religion or financial account information.

3. How we use your information

• To run the site and keep it available, including detecting and preventing misuse, such as automated scraping and excessive requests.
• To understand how the site is used, for example which pages are popular, which devices people use and how long they stay, so that we can improve the content and design.
• To respond to you when you contact us, including correcting an error you report or handling a privacy request.
• To protect our rights and comply with the law, including responding to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

4. Our basis for using your information

We process personal information in line with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as they apply to us. Depending on the situation, we rely on your consent (for example, when you send us a message and ask us to reply), or on purposes the law recognises as legitimate uses (for example, responding to a request you made to us, keeping the site secure, or meeting a legal obligation). By using the site you accept the practices in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Service providers who help us run the site, under duties to protect it. These include our website hosting and content delivery provider (the site is served through Cloudflare), the provider that hosts our data and rate-collection systems, and the email service used to deliver your contact messages to us. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
• Google Fonts. Our pages load a typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. Google's privacy policy governs what it does with that.
• Authorities and advisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, to protect our rights, safety or property, or to professional advisers under a duty of confidentiality.
• A business change. If Orion Appworks merges with, or transfers this site to, another business, your information may transfer with it, and we will make sure the new owner honours this policy.

We may publish or share summary statistics, such as the total number of visits, which do not identify any person.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set cookies of our own, and we do not use cookies or browser storage to track you across the web. Our providers may use strictly necessary technologies for security. Read our cookie policy for details.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Visit records are kept for as long as they are useful for analytics and security, and we review them from time to time and delete or anonymise what we no longer need. Contact messages are kept until your request is dealt with and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up. We may keep information for longer where the law requires or where we need it to deal with a legal claim.

9. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), limits on how often a visitor can call our systems, and restricted access to our administration tools and data. No system on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

10. Your rights and choices

Under applicable law you may have the right to:

• ask for a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• ask us to erase information that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected;
• withdraw consent you have given us, which will not affect what we did before you withdrew it;
• have a grievance dealt with and, if you remain unsatisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operating under the law; and
• nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated.

To use any of these rights, write to us using the details in section 14. We may ask you for details that help us find your records, such as the approximate date and the page you visited, and we may need to verify your identity before we act. We aim to respond within 30 days. Because we do not keep visitor accounts, we may not be able to connect an IP address to a person unless you give us details to match.

11. Children

GoldRateToday is a general-information site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Where information is processed

Our service providers operate internationally. This means your information may be processed on servers outside India, including in the countries where our hosting and delivery providers run their networks. We take steps to ensure that providers protect it as described in this policy and as the law requires.

13. Links to other sites and changes to this policy

Our pages may link to other websites, such as official government and regulatory sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies. We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to tell you. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
